LEUT
Leut is one of the oldest rowboats. It was common among inhabitants living near the Neretva River and the place of Omiš, and over time, it spread throughout the entire Adriatic. It is usually categorised into small (up to 8.5 metres) and larg (up to 15 meters), payload from 6 to 8 tons (of fish). It had six oars, similar to a “gajeta” boat, but has a much more massive structure. Its deck is covered, it has a strong keel, and its body is rounded at its central part. The mast is located at 1/3 its length, and it has one sail. As a fishing boat in the pre-motorised era, it had a crew of 14. It is not fast, however, it is extremely resistant to strong winds and waves. (Wikipedia)
