Product description
The name Bracera is believed to be etymologically related to the name of the island of Brač. Also, in the Adriatic, the name bracera is used for a small merchant sailing ship with a characteristic full hull, extremely wide and round bow and stern. The Bracera of the northern Adriatic differs from the Bracera of the southern. An important characteristic of the Istrian bracera is the shallow hull, and the hull of the Dalmatian bracera is extremely deeper. Istrian bracera usually has two masts with two sails or Latin sails, like a small trabacul. Bracera, like other Adriatic ships, has been the traditional center of a particular maritime community for centuries, revealing the perfection of small ship design, achieved during millennial evolution.
The model is 100% handmade from wood
