GAKETA - FALKUŠA
The falkuša is a type of gajeta ship, used for fishing in the area of the islands of Vis, Korčula and Palagruža. It achieves great speed. Its length ranged from 9 to 10 metres, payload up to 5.5 tons of cargo (fish). It was built in Komiža.
The gajeta is a sea fishing boat with a round hull, pointed bow and stern, with Latin sail. It was equipped with two or four oars, and rowing is performed standing up. Crew: 2-4 persons. In Croatia, it was used from the 18^th century onwards in Central Dalmatia. (Wikipedia)
