SERILIJA, merchant and naval boat of the Illyrian people, Liburnians and Histri. It dates 3rd - 2nd century BC. Such boats werw built complletely using wood and wooden parts and joined by sewing, using ropers and wooden wedges. The boat had a square sail made of leather (later it was made of canavas).The vessel was fitted with a stern quarter rudder and 3-4 oars at each side. Thelength of the vessel was 6-10m.
