SAINT VITUS
The depiction from the stone pillar for the city flag on Rijeka Resolution Square. It was commissioned by Emperor Maximilian in 1509.

St Vitus is usually portrayed as a young man with a palm branch and raven. In this depiction, he holds in his hand a palm branch, and in his arms the city of which he is patron saint. Since ancient times, the palm branch has been considered a symbol of victory.
