PRODUCT PROTECTION
The Croatian Parliament passed a Decision marking April 14 as the Day of Protected Croatian Indigenous Products. On 14 April 2015, Croatia entered its first product in the European Register of Protected products - KRČKI PRŠUT (Krk prosciutto).
Croatia currently has 31 agricultural and food products whose name is registered as a protected designation of origin or a protected geographical indication at the level of the European Union, which ranks it ninth in the EU. The name protection or registration process for another 21 Croatian food products is underway.
